PAT Testing or Portable Appliance TestingPAT Testing or Portable Appliance Testing - As part of our comprehensive services we are qualified to test all your electrical equipment for electrical safety. We use the latest "state of the art" equipment for electrical safety testing. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requires you to keep an accurate record of tested equipment. Our advanced software and bar code system generates a record of your tested equipment and ensure it is accurate and kept up to date. The time period between tests will vary due to the type of equipment, its frequency of use and the environment the equipment is used in. Standard arcade equipment usually requires a PAT test once every year and a formal visual inspection every six months. Because we have over 30 years experience in repairing and servicing gaming / amusement machines etc, we can normally repair any detected fault immediately and re-test the failed item while on your site. The relevant requirement of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 states that equipment shall be maintained so as to prevent danger. If you employ staff or the public has access to your premises and they use any electrical equipment belonging to you, then you are ultimately responsible for the safety of that equipment and the persons using it. All electrical equipment including kettles, fryers, doughnut machines, photocopiers, computers, portable electrical tools such as drills, jig saws and soldering irons etc. should be inspected and tested at suitable intervals for electrical safety. This also includes all equipment out on the arcade floor including any detachable mains leads and extension lead sets. Inspection and testing must be carried out by a suitable qualified person using the appropriate, calibrated test equipment. Documentation identifying individual equipment and the result of their respective inspection and test results will be issued to the owner, giving a clear and traceable record of all tests done. Each piece of equipment will be provided with a test label indicating the results of the test (either PASS or UNSAFE - DO NOT USE) and the date when the next test is due. We would be only to pleased to discuss any queries you may have about Portable Appliance Testing. For further information please contact us on any of the following:
